THE PRINCE OF VARQUE
A Queer Centric, Enchanted Elvish Tragicomedy
They say a smile is worth a thousand words…
Set in the Elvish Kingdom of Athoria, this stage play follows two half brothers - Clavian Pebblethorn and Erdan Athor - as they meet again after decades apart.
Erdan, the high elf rebel and Crown Prince of Athoria, has been under house arrest in his father's palace ever since he tried to flee the Kingdom to find his banished lover - Perseus - a former palace groundskeeper - after he was banished once their affair was made public. Erdan wants nothing more but to be reunited with Perseus, even if it costs him the throne.
Meanwhile his bastard half brother, Clavian Pebblethorn, is finally given permission by their stingy mother and Queen of Athoria - Ingrid - to replace Perseus as the palace groundskeeper after she was made aware of the death of Clavian's paternal aunt, housing provider, and mother of choice - Tabatha.
Since the passing of Tabatha, Clavian lost his ability to smile and has been working as a warlock for the fabulous archfey Sugar Plum, who has agreed to grant Clavian the ability to smile again in return of his labors as her so-called steward of joy. Sugar Plum is a major critic of the Kingdom of Athoria, however, and so trouble was bound to come once she was made aware that her steward of joy had decided to move in to become the new palace groundskeeper.
What will amount of Clavian's move to the palace, and what will Sugar Plum do once made aware of the situations at hand?
